Our Ottawa camp is located just off highway 417, close to the towns of Pakenham and Arnprior - 20 minutes west of Kanata. Let your dog enjoy a caring and safe environment with large open spaces where he or she can exercise and socialize with other dogs, all under close supervision.
The Ottawa Dogs at Camp is set up on – get this: (are you sitting down?) 160 acres of land. Yes, you read that right. One-hundred-and-sixty acres! The beautiful 4000 square foot barn has been restored for our camp purposes, including a large indoor play area, grooming facilities, six ‘stalls’ for sleeping dogs in small groups. Dogs enjoy a two acre fenced outdoor play field. The property is situated on the bank of the Mississippi River...an ideal swimming spot for the dogs!
The owner of the Ottawa Dogs at Camp – Cheryl Caswell founded It’s a Dog’s Life (www.itsadogslife.ca) in 2001, which is one of the original, largest, and most successful indoor day care facilities for dogs in Ontario.

About our obedience training:
We have teamed up with the renowned "Carolark Centre for Applied Canine Behaviour" - so that we can, if you like, work with your dog while he or she is with us at camp.
We have two trainers who come to us from Carolark: Gladys Manchester, and Nicky Barham. Click for more information on both of them!
Note: If you sign up for dog training while at camp, at least four sessions are required. The final session must take place with you, your dog, and our trainer - together. During this session, you will learn how to continue to work with your dog at home. Reading material on the lessons learned will also be provided.
Please remember that dog camp visits are by appointment only.
